Lunching in Style at Robert - NYC's Best Kept Secret Don't tell anyone, but this is not only the best lunch deal in NYC, it's super imaginative, perfectly prepared, and served with tender care. The lunch prix fixe at Robert (my namesake) is a 3-course meal worthy of a Michelin star or two. The waitstaff was actually fussier than me, and the food was way, way beyond sublime. The restaurant got its fabulous name (which I love) from the designer who sadly passed away before its opening at the stunning location high up in 2 Columbus Circle. The view is to die for, and the food is beyond reproach. The staff? Attentive, kind, and thoughtful, making sure your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary. Make reservations so you don't have to be slipped in like we were by the lovely hostess. She worked some magic to get us a table with a sublime, life-changing view! Honestly, I think I saw my soul ascend a little while savoring the dessert. In summary, if you're looking for an unforgettable lunch in NYC, Robert is the place. Just don't tell too many people--we wouldn't want the secret to get out!

Wow! Robert was such a FUN and DELICIOUS experience! First - what a vibrant, cool restaurant. 360 views of the Manhattan skyline, including one of the bathrooms! From their website, "Located atop The Museum of Arts and Design at Columbus Circle, Robert is a classic modern American restaurant offering breathtaking views of Central Park and Columbus Circle." I saw so many cool, eclectically dressed people, 100% matching with the decor! The service is great. Everyone is so knowledgeable and accommodating. Perfect service too as we were an engaged group and they rarely interrupted. We ordered an array of appetizers: BURRATA (5/5) - FLAWLESS $18 Baby Arugula, Heirloom Tomatoes, Roasted Peppers, Fennel, Balsamic Caviar (v, gfm) GARDEN MARKET GREENS (4/5) - good not amazing $16 Apricots, Summer Radish, Grana Padano, Marcona Almonds, Champagne Vinaigrette (v, gf, vgm) TUNA TARTARE (5/5) - Delish! $22 Avocado, Cucumber, Jalapeño, Ginger Soy, Lotus Root Chips (gf) JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKE (5/5) - DIVINE! $22 Banana Pepper Aioli, Chayote Jicama Slaw For my main, I ordered the lamb shank with polenta mash, which looking at the menu now, is no longer an option! It was 5/5 and PERFECT so I'm so sad people can no longer try it. It was 3x the size of anyone else's entrees, maybe that's why it's off the menu now? Also, definitely order: YUCCA FRIES (5/5) - I've never had anything so good in my entire life. These are better than regular fries. I dipped these in the lamb shank gravy and the polenta mash and it was INSANE. $11 (vg, gf) The wine was also amazing. The whole night was very special and fun and the meal was truly like a last day on earth meal. Thank you so much, ROBERT!

Friendly staff, delish food, and an amazing view! Made a last min reservation. We were able to get a window table. Tried: Leek soup Tuna tar tar Roasted chicken Fish special One was better than the next and all were good. The chef sent out a small complementary dessert. Perfect!

My ex didn't do a lot of things right, but treating me to Robert for my birthday dinner was one of the few exceptions LOL The Robert is one NYC's best-kept secret. It is situated inside the Museum of Art and Design. The ambience exudes a quirky, artsy but fine dining vibe. If you get the window seat, you can look at the breathtaking view of Central Park and Columbus Circle. The food and the drinks were quite delicious! And when in NYC, you better order a Manhattan. The servers were also polite and attentive. You should check it out!

Wow, was I surprised by Robert. Was just looking for a nice meal with a good view and this place just blew me away. I had a lovely brunch and with the most beautiful view of the park. I got the mushroom omelette and capped it with homemade blueberry ice cream. Soooo good. I didn't take pictures of the extremely well presented dishes, was way too hungry. Anyway, the service was amazing, the staff is very polite, friendly and attentive. Must experience Robert.

This was a pretty good fine dining experience but honestly the food was okay for its price. Although service and ambiance were great the bass was a pretty small serving. Would I come here again? Most likely not. But for a special date or special family occasion it is great for the experience.

Overall a good spot for a brunch. The ambiance is lovely as there was a piano player and the shades were up. We requested a seat by the window but they weren't able to accommodate which is no big deal, they were able to seat us one row away from the window and that was even better for me. I ordered the burrata and the cheeseburger. The yucca fries are unique in texture and satisfyingly crunchy. The bun on the cheeseburger was a lot so I opted to only eat half of it. The burrata was creamy and went well with the balsamic caviar. We ordered the mango coconut panna cotta as well which was divine, would go back there just for that. It was also beautiful to look at! One star off because the service was not great -- it took a very long time to place our order for our entrees and our dessert, which kept us there for 2 hours. Servers themselves were great.

4.5 / 5.0 - My friends and I came here for brunch on Easter Sunday and were in for a fun surprise. Robert is on top of the Museum of Arts and Design, with impressive views of Columbus Circle and Central Park. We'd made reservations in advance but unfortunately were unable to sit by the windows with views. We still had a very enjoyable meal in this spacious and stylish restaurant. We ordered the Rigatoni ($25+), Lobster Roll ($21+) and Scrambled Eggs & Caviar ($28+). The complimentary basket of bread and muffins was a nice addition. The food was good, but the highlight for me was the festive atmosphere and Easter treats. They had a cotton candy stand, where they offered free cotton candy. And during our meal, an Easter bunny came around, waving and posing for photos. I'm not sure how they celebrate other holidays, but I would love to be back again for more unique experiences as well as the views.
